ICC names Five Breakout players for the T20 World Cup 2022

Many newcomers have emerged in the game of cricket in recent years, and the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in 2022 provides a platform for the game's future generation to create a lasting impression. We look at five up-and-coming talents who are prepared to dominate in Australia with four Associate teams competing in the tournament.

1. Vriitya Aravind (United Arab Emirates)

An Indian-born, playing for UAE, wicketkeeper-batter, has recently done very well for his team. Aravind, the T20 World Cup Qualifier A's Player of the Tournament and top run-scorer, exemplifies the UAE's phoenix-like resurgence after scandals rocked the team's cricket in 2019. Aravind was one of many young Emirati players who were thrust into senior international cricket too soon. Despite this, the dashing top-order gloveman has aced every test. Aravind's greatest score came against Namibia in a 50-over game, when he hit a 76-ball century on a slow pitch. The batsman will surely look to make his mark on international cricket in this opportunity.

2. Karthik Palaniappan Meiyappan (United Arab Emirates)

Karthik Meiyappan, a player who was quickly drafted into the UAE national team and Aravind's Under-19 World Cup teammate, matches the mould of the short-format leg-spinner who has been so successful in the T20 tournament. Meiyappan, a pitcher with a seven-step run-up and a high release point that is nearly beyond the point of perpendicular, can now confidently throw the ball above the eyeliners of batters and spook opponents with a combination of dip and spin. He made his T20I debut last year after giving strong ODI performances and was instrumental in the UAE's Qualifier. earlier in the year, winning three games while taking five wickets in just seven overs. He might take a ton of wickets in Australia and be crucial to UAE's chances of making it to the Super 12 round of the competition.

3. Brandon McMullen (Scotland)

Brandon McMullen, a Scottish player who is seen to be a "genuine" all-rounder, is third on the list. McMullen uses his peak as an added advantage to give the ball bounce. He has previously demonstrated in the local circuit that he is also more than capable with a bat. The 22-year-old gives Scotland the option of having a player who can play in any position. McMullen has performed admirably in A-team games and Regional series action. McMullen might make all the difference in another Scottish push for the Super 12s because opponents have little insight into him.

4. Bas de Leede (Netherlands)

It is obvious that Bas de Leede's development as an international white-ball cricket player against top competition has accelerated, and he now represents a Dutch generational talent. For the Netherlands, Bas de Leede made his international debut in 2021 at the final T20 World Cup. The batter found it difficult to perform at his peak because he only managed to hit 228 runs in 13 innings at an average of 20.72 and a strike rate of 101.78. All of that changed after the T20 WC, as Leede has since played seven innings and scored 289 runs at an average of 72.25 while striking 123. One believes that de Leede would outperform his seven runs across two innings in T20 World Cup cricket and might serve as the cornerstone of the Netherlands' effort to avenge their T20 World Cup failure from the previous year.

5. Divan la Cock (Namibia)

When a team is in its prime, it can be difficult to make a change, but batting all-rounder Divan la Cock can elevate the Namibians to new heights. La Cock, a top-order dasher, made his local cricket debut two years ago, in a domestic T20 final no less. After scoring a blazing 123* in just 59 balls and 11 sixes in a domestic tournament in 2020, La Cock Bust gained renown. In his T20I debut 18 months later, la Cock left a similar impression. La Cock, who batted first for his team against Zimbabwe, hit the highest score of 66 (43) with five sixes in his innings. La Cock may be the missing element as the squad works to improve their Super 12 entrance, given Namibia's sluggishness at the top of the order last year.

Of course, the 2022 T20 World Cup is set to begin on October 16, and we can't wait to watch these superstars shine on the field. Game On!
