Lonavala, Maharashtra: The National Cadet Corps (NCC) successfully concluded the All India Nau Sainik Camp (AINSC) 2026 at INS Shivaji in Lonavala, bringing to a close one of the country's most prestigious annual training programmes for Naval Wing cadets. The camp, organised by the NCC Directorate Maharashtra on behalf of the Directorate General NCC, witnessed the participation of 612 Naval Wing cadets, including 204 girl cadets, representing all 17 NCC Directorates from across India.

The camp served as a rigorous platform for professional military training, maritime skill development, leadership building, and national integration. Over the course of the programme, cadets underwent intensive practical and theoretical training designed to simulate the demands of naval service while also fostering discipline, teamwork, resilience, and patriotism.

The closing ceremony was reviewed by Major General Vivek Tyagi, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate Maharashtra, in the presence of Commodore S. Parthiban, Commanding Officer of INS Shivaji. Senior officers from both the Maharashtra NCC Directorate and the Indian Navy attended the event, congratulating the cadets for their exemplary performance throughout the camp.

Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh Directorate Claims Championship

The biggest highlight of the closing ceremony was the announcement of the overall championship results. The Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh Directorate emerged as the Overall Champion, securing the coveted Championship Trophy after delivering consistently outstanding performances across multiple competitions held during the camp.

Individual honours also recognised exceptional talent among the participants. Cadet Teeya Rajesh Awale from the Maharashtra Directorate was adjudged the Best Girl Cadet, while Cadet Sodha Rajveersinh from the Gujarat Directorate received the title of Best Boy Cadet for his exceptional all-round performance during the camp.

These recognitions reflected not only excellence in competitive events but also leadership qualities, discipline, physical endurance, and professional competence displayed throughout the training period.

During his visit, Lieutenant General Vats witnessed several ongoing competitions, including the highly competitive DK Whaler Boat Pulling event, and reviewed other training activities. Addressing the cadets, he praised their enthusiasm, commitment, and disciplined conduct, encouraging them to strive for excellence in every aspect of life.
