NASA flaunts flower grown at International Space Station

Science and technology have reached beyond our imagination and a flower Zinnia grown at the International Space Station (ISS) is proof of that. Recently, NASA has shared a beautiful image of an orange petal flower which has been grown in space orbit. This photo got millions of likes and left many people in awe.

Scientists are trying to take this plantation process in space so that they will get fresh food for a long-term space mission. They only started studying this in 1970. But NASA astronaut Kjell Lindgren started the Veggie facility in the International Space Station in 2015 having the same intention in mind. This image of Zinnia's flower is a part of her activity.

This technique and science behind space gardens isn't simple, but according to Kjell Lindgren, understanding how plants grow in space orbit will help us to understand how crops grow on our land. It provides a better understanding of how plants grow in microgravity.

Beautiful Zinnia with a background of earth is praised by lots of people with beautiful comments on it. With Zinnia, astronauts have grown lettuce, tomatoes and chili pepper on the ISS and there will be more to add to the veggies soon.
