Celestial Show: June's full strawberry moon shines tonight, followed by 4 super moons

This Sunday, 4th June, is a treat for all those who love the night sky, moon, stars and constellations. June’s full moon, known as Strawberry Moon, will blow up tonight’s sky. This moon was also there on 3rd June and today also adds to the beauty of the sky.

This name, ‘Strawberry Moon’ has its own story. This name is not because of the colour of the fruit and moon. But June is known as the season of the year where strawberries are ready to gather from farms in the U.S.

Other than this, there are a lot more names for this June Strawberry Moon, like Blooming Moon, Green Corn Moon, Hoer Moon etc.

But the real treat will start from next month with four consecutive Supermoons. As the term says, it looks larger than what a usual full moon looks like. Because the moon is closer to earth’s orbit. These 4 supermoons will illuminate on 3rd July, 1st August, 30th August and 29th September.

Don’t forget to get the beautiful, stunning look of today’s Strawberry Moon.
