ಹಿರಿಯ ನಾಯಕ ಮಿಲಿಂದ್ ದಿಯೋರಾ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್‌ಗೆ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ನೀಡಿ

ವರದಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಮಾಜಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸಚಿವ ಮಿಲಿಂದ್ ದಿಯೋರಾ ಅವರು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ನೀಡಿ ಇಂದು ಮಹಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಏಕನಾಥ್ ಶಿಂಧೆ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ಶಿವಸೇನೆಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

"ನಾನು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್‌ನ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಸದಸ್ಯತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ಪಕ್ಷದೊಂದಿಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬದ 55 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಸಂಬಂಧವನ್ನು ಕೊನೆಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ" ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಎಕ್ಸ್ (ಹಿಂದಿನ ಟ್ವಿಟರ್) ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಮುಂಬೈನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಿಲಿಂದ್ ದಿಯೋರಾ ಅವರು ಸುದ್ದಿಗಾರರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ, "ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯ ಪಥದಲ್ಲಿ" ನಡೆಯಲು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ತೊರೆದಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

"ನಾನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯ ಪಥದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ" ಎಂದು ಶ್ರೀ ಡಿಯೋರಾ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಪತ್ನಿ ಪೂಜಾ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಭಾದೇವಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಿದ್ಧಿವಿನಾಯಕ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಹಿರಿಯ ಮುರಳಿ ದೇವೋರಾ ಅವರ ಪುತ್ರರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ದೇವರಾ ಅವರು ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ 2004 ಮತ್ತು 2009 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂಬೈ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವನ್ನು ಗೆದ್ದರು. ಅವರು 2014 ಮತ್ತು 2019 ರ ನಂತರದ ಚುನಾವಣೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿವಸೇನೆಯ (ಅವಿಭಜಿತ) ನಾಯಕ ಅರವಿಂದ್ ಸಾವಂತ್‌ಗೆ ಮೊದಲ ರನ್ನರ್ ಅಪ್ ಆಗಿ ಮುಗಿಸಿದರು.

ಮುಂಬೈ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಧವ್ ಠಾಕ್ರೆ ಬಣ ಗೆಲ್ಲುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅವರು ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ವಿರೋಧ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಮೈತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ಧವ್ ಠಾಕ್ರೆ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ಶಿವಸೇನೆ (ಯುಬಿಟಿ) ಸೇರಿದೆ.

"ಇಂದು ನನಗೆ ತುಂಬಾ ರೋಮಾಂಚನಕಾರಿ ದಿನವಾಗಿದೆ. ನಾನು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ತೊರೆಯುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಯೋಚಿಸಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಇಂದು ನನ್ನ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಜೊತೆಗಿನ 55 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಸುದೀರ್ಘ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಮುರಿದುಬಿದ್ದಿದೆ" ಎಂದು ಇಂದು ಶಿವಸೇನೆಗೆ ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆಯಾದ ನಂತರ ಶ್ರೀ ದೇವರಾ ಸುದ್ದಿಗಾರರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

"ನನ್ನ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಪ್ರಗತಿಪರ ಮತ್ತು ಜಾತ್ಯತೀತ ಎಂದು ನಿಮಗೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ. ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಏಕನಾಥ್ ಶಿಂಧೆ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ. ನಾನು ಅವರ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು" ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

"ಮೈತ್ರಿಕೂಟದ ಪಾಲುದಾರ" ಹೇಳಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲೇಖಿಸಿ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಗರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ದಿಯೋರಾ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್‌ಗೆ ರಾಜೀನಾಮೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ದಿಯೋರಾ ಅವರ ತಂದೆ ಪಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಅಚಲವಾದ ಬೆಂಬಲವನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.

According to reports, Former Union Minister Milind Deora has resigned from the Congress party and joined the Shiv Sena, led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today

"I have tendered my resignation from the primary membership of Congress, ending my family's 55-year relationship with the party," he said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

At his home in Mumbai, Milind Deora told reporters that he left Congress to walk on a "path of development".

"I am going walking on the path of development," Mr Deora said that he and his wife Pooja pray at the Siddhivinayak Temple in Prabhadevi.

Mr Deora, the son of Congress veteran Murli Deora, previously won the Mumbai South seat in 2004 and 2009. He finished as the first runner-up in the subsequent elections in 2014 and 2019 to Shiv Sena (undivided) leader Arvind Sawant.

He recently expressed his displeasure with the Uddhav Thackeray faction winning the Mumbai South seat. The opposition alliance includes the Shiv Sena (UBT), which is led by Uddhav Thackeray.

"Today is a very exciting day for me. I never thought that I would leave the Congress. But today my family's 55-year-long relationship with Congress has been broken," Mr Deora told reporters after joining the Shiv Sena today.

"You all know my politics have been progressive and secular. Everyone knows that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde works with the public. I have to strengthen his hand," he added.

After joining Shiv Sena, Milind Deora says, "The same party that used to offer constructive suggestions to this country, on how to take the country forward, has now just one goal - speak against whatever PM Modi says and does.

Deora resigned from Congress after discussions with supporters, citing "alliance partner" statements. Congress general secretary recalls Deora's father's unwavering support for the party.
