Telangana CM KCR's daughter Kavitha appears before the ED

K Kavitha, who is Telangana’s Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao's daughter, and also the Member of the Legislative Council of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate(ED) on 11th March. She was asked questions related to the Delhi liquor policy case.

Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia is also involved in this case and has been arrested after an 8-hour-long questioning by the ED.

The policy was passed by Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi in 2021. Under this policy, 849 liquor vendors were partnered with private companies. The city was divided into 32 zones. Each zone could have a maximum of 27 vendors. Bidding was done zone-by-zone, instead of individual licenses. This step was taken to increase government revenue and end black marketing.

This case has the involvement of a number of powerful people from the South.Telangana MLC Kavitha, Sarath Reddy (promoter of Aurobindo Group), Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy (MP, Ongole), his son Raghav Magunta, and others are involved in this case, along with Pillai, Abhishek Boinpalli and Butchi Babu representing it.

During the investigation, she termed all of the allegations as "tactics of intimidation" by the Centre against Telangana's CM, K Chandrashekar Rao, and the BRS.

She will be questioned on 13th March again, sitting face to face with Hyderabad-based businessman, Arun Ramchandra Pillai, who has been arrested in connection with the liquor policy case.
