Stray dogs should be eaten?! This minister just did not say this!

Bachchu Kadu, a Maharashtra MLA and leader of the Prahar Janshakti Party, said in a statement that he had proposed sending stray dogs in the state to Assam to control their population. This has sparked controversy. Kadu claims that people in Assam eat dogs.

“Stray dogs are in demand in Assam. They fetch selling price of up to ₹8,000. To control the population of stray dogs in the state, they should be dispatched to Assam," he allegedly said.

Bachchu Kadu was giving a speech in the Maharashtra assembly as the topic of the discussion was stray dog issues.

Rather than advocating for the consumption of dogs, it is important for leaders and policymakers to promote humane and effective measures for controlling stray dog populations, such as spaying and neutering programs, vaccination campaigns, and education and awareness initiatives. Additionally, there should be measures in place to protect the rights and well-being of all animals, including stray dogs, and to prevent cruelty and abuse.

Overall, any suggestion that stray dogs should be eaten is highly inappropriate and goes against the principles of compassion and respect for all living beings. It is important for leaders and individuals to promote responsible and humane approaches to animal welfare and to work towards a more just and compassionate society for all.
