Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's Birth Anniversary, PM offers tribute, Shah launches 'Run for Unity'

On Sardar Vallabhai Patel's birth anniversary today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent wishes to the nation. In remembrance of Sardar Patel's contributions to the country, PM Modi stated that the citizens continue to be influenced by his dedication to national integration.

“On the Jayanti of Sardar Patel, we remember his indomitable spirit, visionary statesmanship and the extraordinary dedication with which he shaped the destiny of our nation. His commitment to national integration continues to guide us. We are forever indebted to his service,” PM Modi wrote on X.

On this occasion, PM Modi visited a daredevil stunts event hosted by women personnel of the CRPF at the Statue of Unity in Gujarat. Notably, the central force was established in accordance with the ideas of Sardar Patel, who is recognised as the founder of the CRPF.

At the occasion, there were performances by artisans from the border villages of China and India.

 

Amit Shah launched "Run for Unity"

At a special ceremony conducted at Patel Chowk in New Delhi, dignitaries including President Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid floral tributes to the Sardar Patel statue.

The national capital's Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium served as the launching point for Shah's "Run for Unity" rally, which marks the birth anniversary and is additionally known as "Rashtriya Ekta Divas." A Unity oath was said after the flagging off.

Recalling Sardar Patel's significance in bringing the nation together, Amit Shah stated that the country's first Home Minister is the cause of India's unity. Shah mentioned in the speech how Sardar Patel aimed to bring together all the principalities that the British had divided during India's independence.
