Imagine your PM candidate riding on a bike next to you. Ain't that cool? It seems the Congress PR think tank seems to have come up with the same idea. Sending their super boss on a bike ride to Ladakh to visit the Pangong Lake is essentially the stuff of young PR aficionados in the Rahul Gandhi clan – looking to tap into the minds of their young voter counterparts who may get influenced looking at the cool act.
Well, Mr, Gandhi did undeniably look good in that biker attire and that helmet riding his way to social media glory with that little stunt after he was glared at for throwing flying kisses in the Parliament. The junior Gandhi seems to be on quite a PR roll.
So the story goes like this – It is Rahul’s dad and former Indian Prime Minister Shri Rajiv Gandhi’s birth anniversary today – on the 20th of August 2023. Rahul, who is on a tour of the Union Territory of Ladakh to celebrate his late father’s birthday, celebrated it in style with pictures filling up his Instagram stating: “On our way to Pangong Lake, which my father used to say, is one of the most beautiful places in the world.”
Rahul was riding a KTM 390 Adventure with fellow riders accompanying him – his rider gear being on point and in place – The whole shebang being a helmet, gloves, riding boots, and a jacket. But it's not all fun and games as Rahul is also expected to participate in the meeting of the 30-member Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC)-Kargil elections on August 25.
It looks like his Bharat Jodo Yatra 1 covered North to South India and now his Bharat Jodo Yatra 2 will cover West to East India seems to leave some faraway Union Territories like Ladakh that not only look good on his political portfolio but also eye-catching to his younger TG that will vote in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Congress was extra elated for its boss with words like: “Upwards and onwards — Unstoppable!”
The junior Gandhi and the scion of the Congress party looking to take over the nation's helm in 2024 has had quite a PR journey – he keeps revamping his looks and behaviour going from man-of-the-soil to suave-and-dressed-for-the-paps in seconds. Gandhi's good looks are sure to add to the charm. How much of this charm will reflect on the end goal – the Prime Minister’s chair in 2024 remains to be a matter of democratic justice. But the methods to tug at our hearts by this young politico are well, efficient to say the least.
