According to Apollo Hospital officials, Odisha's Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das passed away on Sunday from bullet wounds. On Sunday, around 12:15 p.m., an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the police opened fire on Naba Kishore Das near Gandhi Chowk in the Brajrajnagar district of Jharsuguda.
"The wounds were patched up, and measures were taken to make the heart pump more efficiently. He received prompt care in the ICU. However, he could not be revived and succumbed to his injuries, despite best efforts," according to a hospital statement.
The minister's left chest was struck by bullets as he got out of his vehicle.
