On the 25th anniversary of the National Congress Party, NCP president Sharad Pawar revealed a surprise by announcing two new posts of working president for the party. Senior NCP leader Praful Patel and his own daughter, NCP leader Supriya Sule will hold the position of working president. Patel will look after Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Jharkhand and Rajyasabha, while Supriya Sule will be in charge of Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab and Loksabha.
Earlier last month, Sharad Pawar offered his resignation, which was later rejected by senior leaders of NCP and the love of party members. But many people have criticized this decision, saying he wants to turn the role finally into the hands of his own daughter. But Ajit Pawar didn’t have any idea about this and surely received a surprise at the last moment.
Sharad Pawar took this decision from a future point of view. He wants to make some basic organizational changes in the party. Within that, in future, new leadership may arise with new responsibilities. But the appointment of working president is mainly related to upcoming Loksabha polls, said one of the NCP leaders.
