NCP leaders protest succeed - Sharad Pawar to continue as president

Finally, on May 5, 2023 committee rejected the resignation of NCP President Sharad Pawar. A committee of 18 members which was formed to give a decision over the resignation of Sharad Pawar, gave a final decision unanimously within 10 minutes today. On 5 May, there was a meeting at the NCP office in Mumbai at 11 o' clock. Ajit Pawar, Supriya Sule and many other senior members were presented.

On 2 May, Sharad Pawar announced his resignation and right after that there were discussions over upcoming political change. Almost all members were unhappy with the decision he took. An emotional protest started this morning as today was the day to announce the name of the new NCP president. People didn’t want Sharad Pawar to let go, all party members wanted him as a party President.

Besides this, the resignation of Sharad Pawar would definitely lead to a different scenario. Supriya Sule and Praful Patel were two names for the new presidential ship. Thus, Ajit Pawar would only be limited to Maharashtra politics and this could cause a split in the party. Many people say that  Sharad Pawar’s decision not to resign is really a fair decision for this situation.
