Lotus will bloom in Sitamarhi: Rajnath Singh After Prayer

Darbhanga, Bihar: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh touched down in Punauradham on Wednesday, arriving directly by helicopter from Darbhanga airport to offer prayers at the Sita Kund temple in the Sitamarhi district of Bihar, which shares a land border with Nepal. Singh visited the revered Janaki birthplace with the assistance of the former health minister, Mangal Pandey. After paying homage at the revered Sita Kund temple, Union Minister Singh, amidst the spiritual ambiance, declared, 'A lotus will bloom in Sitamarhi.' Drawing a poignant analogy, Singh pointed to the nearby pond, emphasising,

'There is a pond near the temple, and only lotus blooms in the pond. At Janaki's birthplace, known as Sita Kund, it is only natural for the lotus to bloom here.'"

Addressing the media, the Defence Minister refrained from any political comment but assured Sitamarhi will have all-round development.

Before the briefing, Defence Minister Singh offered prayers at Janaki's birthplace, Punouradham. After reaching Sita Kund, he also performed Aarti. After the aarti, he also circumambulated the temple. After this, he left to participate in the dialogue with local intelligentsia organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party.
