Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Telangana BJP President and MP, was detained by the police from his residence without any given reasons in the late hours of Tuesday night. The MP's supporters tried to prevent his arrest, leading to some tense moments. Sanjay Kumar has been shifted to Bommalaramaram police station, and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy condemned the police action, calling it 'undemocratic.' The incident has triggered protests by the BJP workers. The detention of Kumar without citing any reason has been widely criticized.The incident occurred shortly before the scheduled visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Telangana, where he is set to inaugurate multiple projects. BJP workers gathered at the police station, demanding Kumar's immediate release. Amit Malviya, BJP leader and party's I-T department head, tweeted that the Telangana police had arrested Kumar on fabricated charges of being involved in the secondary school paper leak in a midnight operation, and this wouldn't end well for Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
