During an eight-hour questioning session, Manish Sisodia was taken into custody on Sunday by the Central Bureau of Investigation, which is looking into possible anomalies in the now-canceled Delhi Excise Policy.
The Aam Aadmi Party has started a nationwide protest over Manish Sisodia's arrest for allegedly violating the Delhi liquor excise rules. With tight security, party members are holding demonstrations in Bhopal, Chandigarh, Delhi, and other cities. Also, a sizable crowd of workers and sympathizers is anticipated outside the Delhi CBI headquarters.
The chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, stated that the CBI agents disagreed on whether Manish Sisodia should be held and that there was no evidence against Sisodia in the excise policy matter.
“I am told that most CBI officers were against Manish’s arrest. All of them have huge respect for him and there is no evidence against him. But the political pressure to arrest him was so high that they had to obey their political masters,” Kejriwal claimed in a tweet.
