Canada currently has 62 diplomats posted in India, and India's request for the return of 41 officials has deepened the diplomatic rift. India has reportedly threatened to revoke the diplomatic immunity of the recalled Canadian diplomats if they fail to return by the specified date. However, India has declined to comment on the report.

As part of ongoing measures, New Delhi has also implemented restrictions on issuing visas for Canadian travelers to India, affecting Indian missions worldwide. However, individuals holding the Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card or valid Indian visas are exempt from these restrictions.
