The FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week brings to the fore, collections of the most artistic and avant-garde pieces from the domains of the Indian Fashion Industry. A coming together of the most versatile and reputable names on one single stage offers ample direction to the fusion of textiles with structure and embellishments while paving the way for couture trends. The theme of the 5 days of exhibiting the prowess of the industry in reaching new horizons at every stage converges with sustainability and the emergence of new talent or ideas.
This time around, the stage was fuelled by the presence of the hottest designers from the field setting the stage on fire with their thought-provoking flairs for presentation and technique. The 12th to the 16th of October 2022 saw the most vivacious execution of designs by the best brains in Fashionable India. Be it the textures, patterns, motifs, prints, colours, textiles, art, or culture- each one stood its ground in the scintillating blueprints of the beautiful silhouettes. From the revival of cultural artisan-oriented structures, hand-painted cloths, and ancestral ornaments to futuristic designs, rich blends of trends, unconventional creations, and compositions of colours- each model walked the stage with sustainability at the core.
The spectators witnessed the walks of the stunning celebrities from Bollywood- Malaika Arora, Kriti Sanon, Siddharth Malhotra, Yami Gautam, Mrunal Thakur, Tara Sutaria, and Genelia Deshmukh.

The fashion game was amped up by the constructive and insightful collections- “People of Tomorrow” by Pawan Sachdeva, “Geisha Designs” by Paras and Shalini, “Not So Serious” by Pallavi Mohan, “Damyanti” by Anju Modi and Tencel, “Solaris” by Pankaj and Neeti, “Afro Rhapsody” by Eshaa Amiin and Nirmooha’s “ Magical Wilderness” and so many more. The Fashion Week could be called a Cinematic Spectacle- A vision into heritage sites, juxtaposed articles of clothing, eco-friendly drapes, an amalgamation of frames that showcased a fusion of expression, utilitarian couture, agnostic frames, vibrant and voluptuous colour, geometrical panoramas and collections embodying mystic themes and constellatory imaginations.
This season, trends that received the limelight were Monochromes, Shine & Shimmer, Prints, Statement Jackets, and Bodices.

The first fashion week to exhibit an IPL team- “Gujarat Titans” in a collaborative effort with Kanika Goyal presented sporty street-wear silhouettes encouraging self-expression. The influences were drawn from the multitude of Gujarat’s entities and a representative colour palette was offered to the fashion-hungry audience.

The FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week is a bi-annual strategic display of the finest artists in the fashion industry showcasing their detailed work as an expression of the transcendental thoughts that they can offer to the stage. It stands to be one of the most prominent fashion shows as an aspirational lifestyle event across the globe on an enormous scale as an invitation to not only debutante ateliers but also to classic and celebrated brands like Sabyasachi, Tarun Tahiliani, Manish Malhotra, Louis Vuitton, Roberto Cavalli, and Dolce & Gabbana.
