Gurugram Bans 11 Dog Breeds as Pets

Dogs, man's best friend or attack animal? Well according to Gurugram and Ghaziabad municipal corporation it is the latter. 

Because of the increased attacks by pet dogs in recent times, authorities in Gurugram, Noida and Ghaziabad have now pushed for fierce action. 

Noida has issued a fine of 10,000 and a list of actions that will be taken if a pet dog does is part of any untoward incident. Although ghaziabad and noida have gone for a stricter approach. By banning about 11 breeds and issuing a statement that all the breeds that have been banned should be taken into custody. 

Ghaziabad and Gurugram have also made the registration of pet dogs within one month compulsory with a fee which shall not be less than Rs. 12,000 per year.

As well as issuing that every registered dog must wear a collar with a propeer name tag when a pet is taken to public places and its mouth shall be properly covered. Pet owners have also been informed to take waste bags and pluckers to public places to maintain proper hygiene.

  • Rottweiler
  • Neapolitian Mastiff 
  • Boerboel
  • Presa Canario
  • Wolf dog
  • Bandog
  • American Bulldog
  • Fila Brasileiro
