7 Oddest Guinness World Records

Guinness World Records is a super prestigious name. People go to various lengths to make their place in that book.

But to such weird lengths?

We present you the 7 Oddest Guinness World records you couldn’t even think of.

Bars should definitely hire this Macaw

This parrot set the world record in 2012 for opening the most number of cans.

Although it sounds impossible Zac the Macaw who lives in San Jose has the talent to open 35 cans in one minute.

Bravo Zac! Surely other macaws would be jealous of you.

Basketball tricks – The first thing in the morning

Ali Behboodifar loved basketball tricks a little too much and thought of taking it to the next level.

On 18 April 2022, this Iranian man tried spinning a basketball on a toothbrush. Yes, a heavy basketball on a lightweight toothbrush. He managed to spin it for 1 min 47.4 sec and made it to the Guinness World Record.

Now this brother has some amazing balancing skills.

The tongue of steel?

Like many Marvel heroes, Ashrita Furman too has superpowers, only that her powers are a bit different.

Ashrita, who lives in New York, made the record for stopping the most electric fan blades with her tongue in one minute.

On 14 August 2014, she stopped the fan 35 times with her tongue, tossing this victory into her huge box of achievements.

This world now has a woman of steel too.

When you can do anything with your heels on – Literally anything!

A US teenager, Ariana Wunderle booked her slot in the world record by walking 194.983 m far in high heels on a tightrope.

Clumsy teenage girls would do anything to take a few lessons from her. I mean walking in high heels without falling is such a big task in itself, and walking on a tight rope with heels on. Unbelievable!

Is that skin or rubber band?

Skin is not the stretchiest thing in the world, but this British man can pull his skin up to a bizarre level.

Gary Turner can stretch the skin of his stomach to 6.25 inches. He says it’s due to a rare medical condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

How in this universe is this possible?

When piercing is your love language

After her first skin piercing in January 1997, Elaine Davidson was hooked.

The Brazilian restaurant owner has been pierced a total of 4,225 times since then - winning her the title in 2003.

The Guinness World Records site says she is constantly adding and replacing jewelry, primarily on her face, but also likes adding tattoos, makeup, and feathers in her hair.

Speechless is certainly the word that pops up in my head after hearing this.

It stings

Wei Shengchu holds the record for inserting the most needles in his head. He covered his whole head with 2,188 needles which is an unimaginable number.

When a needle stings a normal human, he flinches with pain, now think of more than 2,000 needles. He is surely an alien.

Everyone has their own set of abilities – some perfect, some absurd; some natural, some pursued. It’s difficult to stand out from the crowd especially when it’s the trolling era. But thanks to Guinness World Records, they cover it all, motivating people to be themselves, and pushing them to the extent where they can make their names.
