The government's notification reads, "The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Jaya Verma Sinha, an esteemed member of the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) specializing in Operations and Business Development at the Railway Board. She will assume the role of Chairman and CEO, of the Railway Board in the Apex scale (pay level -17 as per 7th CPC) from the date of her assumption of office, which is set for September 1, 2023. This appointment will extend until her superannuation, with re-employment on the post starting from October 1, 2023, until December 31, 2024, under standard terms and conditions, or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier."
