Hiring Alert | Akasa Air looking to hire 1,000 employees

By March 2024, Akasa Air, the newest airline in India, plans to increase its fleet size and hire up to 1,000 new staff members. By then, the airline would have more than 3,000 employees overall, including 1,100 pilots and flight attendants, according to CEO Vinay Dube.
Although no locations have been specified, the airline, which made its debut seven months ago, will also start operating internationally before the end of the year.

Akasa Air will hire 1,000 people.
Akasa Air will place a "three-digit aircraft order" by the end of 2023, according to Dube. The airline has already placed orders for 72 Boeing 737 Max planes, of which 19 are now in use and a 20th is scheduled to begin flying in April. Akasa Air intends to increase its fleet by nine aircraft in the upcoming fiscal year, increasing the total to 28. Dube anticipated that the airline will rise from 110 to 150 daily flights by the conclusion of the summer season.

According to Dube, hiring is always done beforehand to allow for training, and the number of staff is decided by the number of scheduled aircraft deliveries. When questioned about whether post-pandemic hiring is difficult, he retorted that the airline was fortunate to attract outstanding staff and will maintain concentrating on being employee-centric.
Dube stated that the airline is now working with the Ministry of Aviation to think through the routes and traffic rights that are available for possible overseas destinations. Although he was unable to provide more information at this time, he stated that the airline is looking at both east and west locations.

In February, Akasa Air carried 361,000 passengers, or 3% of the domestic market. The most current official data indicates that its on-time performance was 87%. Dube expressed delight with the accomplishment and the airline's development thus far.

Dube has expressed his immense joy about the airlines' most recent successes. But he asserts that Akasa is not looking for employment in the aviation industry.

He said, "We have no positional objectives in the aviation business or goals for market share. Instead, we want to make our clients and staff happy. We are now doing that, and if our cost structure is fairly stable, we can keep doing it. We are focussing on these three pillars, therefore."
