World's oldest person, a French nun is dead - She was 118

 

Lucile Randon, known as Sister Andrée, was born in France on February 11, 1904, and is believed to be the world's oldest person that recently passed away. She was 118 and her retirement home announced her death on Tuesday. Sister André was officially recognized as the oldest living person in April of 2022 following the death of Kane Tanaka.

 

She was recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest living person at the age of 116 years, and 357 days.

She was born on February 11, 1904, in a small village in the south of France. She became a nun in the Catholic Church at the age of 29 and took the name Sister Andrée. She taught at a school for girls and later worked as a nurse.

 

She has lived in a nursing home in Toulon, France, since the age of 105. She is the last living person to have been born in 1904. She is considered to be in good health for her age and was able to walk with the help of a walker. She attributed her longevity to a healthy diet, regular exercise, and a positive attitude.

 

She has outlived all her siblings and her only surviving relative is a nephew.
