The spine-chilling movie 'IT' to have a prequel series?

HBO Max is working on a "It" prequel, according to sources, Variety has learnt.

The presently titled "Welcome to Derry" television series will start in the 1960s, just before the events of the 2017 movie "It: Part One," which is based on the Stephen King horror novel. Also allegedly included in the tale is Pennywise the Clown's backstory.

Together with Barbara Muschietti and Jason Fuchs, director Andy Muschietti of "It: Part One" and "It: Part Two" in 2019 is slated to executive produce the show. The Muschiettis and Fuchs, who wrote the show's screenplay, created the plot, according to reports. Should the idea move to series, Andy would also direct the first episode.

The authors' room in A is now accessible. The project is being spearheaded by Warner Bros. Television, and WB produced both of the films.
