To everyone's Shock, Selena Gomez decided to take a break from social media in response to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, emphasising that she believes individual posts alone can not change the world given the current environment of violence and terror against children and women due to the ongoing conflict.
In a heart-wrenching note on Instagram Story, She wrote that she is deeply saddened by the horror, hate, violence, and terror occurring in the world and the suffering, torture of people, regardless of their background, is truly horrific.
She appealed for peace and unity, emphasising the importance of safeguarding all individuals, particularly children and putting an end to violence permanently.
She added that she apologises if her words or a simple hashtag can't satisfy everyone. She can't simply stand by innocent people suffering and wish that she could make a difference. And no post can make a change, so she is taking a break from Instagram.
However, Her statement that social media posts may not have any influential impact on stopping the war has generated a mixed response among her fans.
