Mining Tycoon Harpal Randhawa & son amongst the 6 killed in a plane crash in Zimbabwe

According to media reports, Mining Tycoon Harpal Randhawa and his son Amer were among six individuals who lost their lives when their private plane crashed near a diamond mine in southwestern Zimbabwe.

As reported by the news website iHarare, Randhawa, along with his son and four other individuals, tragically lost their lives when the plane crashed in the Zvamahande area of Mashava.The private plane carrying Randhawa and Amer, along with four others crashed due to a ‘technical fault’. All passengers and crew members on board lost their lives in the accident

The plane suffered a mechanical failure, which may have caused an explosion in mid-air, before crashing into Peter Farm in the Zvamahande region.

Harpal Randhawa,  the owner of RioZim, a diversified mining company producing gold, coal and refining nickel and copper The plane experienced a technical fault, possibly resulting in a mid-air explosion, before dropping straight down into 'Peter Farm' in the Zvamahande region.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police reported a plane crash that resulted in six confirmed deaths on September 29th between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 am.

The company secretary, RioZim, said a full statement would be issued. “Unfortunately, I am unable to speak to the media at this time, but we will issue a statement shortly,” he added. Randhawa was the co-founder of GEM Holdings, a $4 billion private equity firm.

Meanwhile, The local community and law enforcement agencies are working together to deal with the aftermath of the plane crash.
