Kozhikode and Gwalior Honored as UNESCO Cities of Literature and Music.

Kozhikode and Gwalior, both in Kerala, have been named UNESCO Creative Cities of Literature and Music, respectively. These prestigious recognitions highlight the cities' rich cultural heritage and their commitment to creativity and innovation.

Kozhikode boasts a vibrant literary tradition, numerous literary festivals, and numerous publishing houses and bookshops. Gwalior, on the other hand, is known for its rich musical heritage, including several music schools and festivals, including the prestigious Tansen Music Festival.

The UNESCO Creative Cities Network, a global network of 246 cities, supports sustainable urban development through creativity and culture. The designation of Kozhikode and Gwalior as UNESCO Creative Cities is a significant achievement for both cities, as it will raise the profile of their cultural heritage, attract tourists and investors, promote their creative industries, and foster innovation.
