The United States quickly rolled out its Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) which it had recently deployed to Israel. U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin confirmed that the system is now "in place" in Israel but declined to comment on the status of whether it's operational. He stated that the system is ready to activate when needed.
Israeli Military Strikes Hezbollah's Financial Network
Israel which has further intensified airstrikes against Hezbollah and its officials. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported launching airstrikes on Al-Qard al-Hassan, a nonprofit organization accused of financing Hezbollah's activities in southern Beirut. They stated that this organization is central to Hezbollah's operation as it stores the funds to buy arms and other supplies. Strikes have reportedly been heard throughout the region, and explosions were said to have caused much damage in Beirut and southern Lebanon. The Israeli military said it had launched a series of targeted strikes against dozens of Hezbollah facilities.
Hamas Claims Attacks on Israeli Soldiers
The Hamas armed wing said that its forces had killed Israeli soldiers in the northern Gaza Strip. The group had hit several Israeli military areas and injured the Israeli troops through missiles and sniper shots. Hezbollah has responded by firing rockets into several military bases in northern Israel.
