Yahya Sinwar, allegedly mastermind of the October 7 attacks, killed in Gaza

In a severe blow to the Hamas terror outfit, Yahya Sinwar, the mastermind of the brutal attacks that Israel suffered on October 7, 2023, is killed in Gaza. The Israeli troops engaged in a gun battle near Rafah on Wednesday, killing Sinwar and another Hamas terrorist. Contrary to previous assumptions that Sinwar was hiding in Hamas' tunnel complex, officials said he was above the ground when the Israeli forces killed him.

Israeli Military Confirms Sinwar's Identity

Israeli forces took Sinwar's body and through DNA analysis and dental records confirmed his identity. Contrary to long-held belief by the military, Sinwar was found hiding in tunnels, his last encounter with Israel forces having been in Rafah near its military's positions.

Drone Catches Sinwar's Last Moments

The Israeli Defense Forces published a video capturing Sinwar entering a house within the Tel al-Sultan refugee camp in Rafah. In the said video, Sinwar was apparently heavily wounded and attempted to ward off his overpowered attackers. Sat imagery has already authenticated that distance between the house and outposts of the IDF to confirm that Sinwar was only 170 yards away from the Israeli positions when the battle started.

Israeli Prime Minister's Reaction

During his address to the people of Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that "Hamas will no longer rule Gaza," and the effort has marked the beginning of a new phase for one of the most conflict-ridden regions in the world. He proclaimed that Sinwar, behind one of the deadliest attacks in Israel's history, is now eliminated.
