Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah mounted over the weekend, as a drone attack was done on residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Caesarea. This comes just hours after the reports stating that Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas had been killed. At the time of the attack, Netanyahu and his family had left the building according to isreali military. The Israeli army swiftly imposed media censorship and closed the area which has residents of many important figures and also has military bases and oil refineries.
Hezbollah Launches Missile Attacks
In response to Israeli military operations targeting Hezbollah’s leaders in southern Lebanon, the group has launched a rocket salvo towards northern Israel targeting areas north of Haifa. According to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), approximately 55 rockets were fired from Lebanon within a short time frame. The barrage triggered warning sirens across northern Israel, including Haifa Bay, Kiryat Atta, and several nearby towns. Hezbollah’s used both drones and rockets to strike multiple targets simultaneously allowed the group to evade detection and cause widespread damage. The IDF reported that within just two minutes, 20 rockets were launched, followed by an additional 35 rockets shortly after. The rocket attacks injured at least 13 people, while property damage was reported in several areas.
