For the third time, a grand jury has indicted former US President Donald Trump on suspicion of conspiring to defraud the nation and hinder the orderly transition of power to President Joe Biden. It is the first time a former US president has been charged criminally with attempting to rig free and fair elections; therefore, this is a historic development. The indictment charges Trump with feigning electoral fraud in order to obstruct the government's duty of gathering, tabulating, and certifying election results.
Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell are two of the six co-conspirators named in the document. The allegations have been brushed aside by Trump, who is now leading the Republican primary field for the 2024 presidential elections, as part of a dishonest attempt by the Biden administration to meddle in the forthcoming election. He raises concerns about the timing of the indictment, claiming it was made public to draw attention away from other issues involving President Biden.
