Thankfully, Congressman Stephen Lynch's office and Senator Ed Markey's office have been incredibly responsive. They have been in constant communication, both with me and the State Department, in an effort to expedite the passport replacement process. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and hopefully, everything will resolve itself."

The couple's departure to Italy is scheduled for this upcoming Friday.

According to the groom-to-be's statement to the media, in the event that he is unable to obtain a passport before the scheduled flight, he will opt to remain at home while his fiancee and the wedding attendees proceed with their trip to Italy.
