Couple orders 14-course meal to steal 1.7 Million USD worth of wine

An ingenious wine theft in which a former Mexican beauty queen and her Romanian-Dutch accomplice pretended to be high-end diners in order to steal $1.7 million worth of wine resulted in their four-year prison sentences.

Local media said that Priscila Guevara, 28, and Constantin Dumitru, 49, received sentences on Monday for the 2021 scheme in which they planned to order a 14-course lunch at the Atrio hotel in the Spanish city of Cáceres.

The heist allegedly occurred on October 27, 2021, and was originally successful, according to Spain's El Pas.

According to investigators, one of the bottles was from 1806, and it was worth about $330,000. Security video, which included a picture of Dumitru and Guevara leaving the hotel with the stolen wine, was made public by the police.
