Bottled water brand Bisleri forays into the UAE market

Bisleri International, a manufacturer of bottled water, has entered the international market with the help of the Gulf-based Nasser Abdulla Lootah Group, in order to make its products available in the United Arab Emirates. Emirates Drinking Water, a subsidiary of the Nasser Abdulla Lootah Group, will produce and package Vedica and Bisleri.

Bisleri is a well-known brand of bottled water in India. This brand was first introduced in Mumbai in the year 1965. Bisleri is owned by Parle Bisleri Limited, which is a part of the Parle Group, a major Indian food and beverage conglomerate.

Bisleri water is sourced from natural springs and undergoes a rigorous purification process that involves multiple stages of filtration, ozonation, and UV treatment. Bisleri offers a range of bottled water products, including mineral water, packaged drinking water, and flavoured water.

Bisleri has a wide distribution network in India, with products available in over 1,500,000 retail outlets across the country. Bisleri has also expanded its operations to other countries such as Nepal, Bangladesh, and the UAE.

The name "Bisleri" is derived from the name of the Italian town "Varese" (which is pronounced "Va-reh-zeh" in Italian) where the original Bisleri water purification plant was set up. The name was then modified to make it easier to pronounce for the Indian market.

Bisleri has been involved in various social initiatives such as rainwater harvesting, waste management, and rural water supply. In addition to bottled water, Bisleri has also ventured into other product categories such as energy drinks, fruit juices, and carbonated beverages.

Bisleri has won several awards and recognitions for its quality and innovation, including the "Best Packaged Water" award at the International Beverage Awards, and the "Best Advertising Campaign" award at the Effie Awards India.
