An unidentified individual entered the Turkish embassy in the United States and gave the earthquake victims $30 million in cash.
Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, expressed his gratitude for this donation in a tweet on Saturday. The Turkish embassy did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the gift.
According to Sharif's tweet, "an anonymous Pakistani" made the generous donation by walking into the embassy.
Sharif added in the tweet, "These are such glorious acts of philanthropy that enable humanity to triumph over the seemingly insurmountable odds."
