On Wednesday a 6.2 earthquake shook northern Chile.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake took place at 20:48 local time (5:18 am IST) It was also stated that the earthquake was 41 km deep and took place at the south-southwest of Coquimbo, Chile.
As Chile is situated in the ‘ring of fire’ in the Pacific earthquakes are frequent.
Although the earthquake was powerful, fortunately, Chile’s national emergency did not report any damages or injuries.
