2 Indians Held for Misconduct on a Dubai-Mumbai Indigo Airlines Flight

According to news reports, two passengers on an IndiGo flight between Dubai and Mumbai were detained after they allegedly abused the crew and other passengers while drunk.  

Two IndiGo passengers travelling from Dubai to Mumbai have been detained by the Sahar Police in Mumbai for reportedly misbehaving with the staff and being drunk, according to the police.

DCP Dixit Gedam, Mumbai Police told ANI, "Two Indigo flyers have been booked under section 336 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) & sections 21, 22, and 25 of Aircraft rules for being drunk & misbehaving with the crew. Both were arrested formally but as the sections were bailable, they were granted bail from the police station itself". According to the police, an FIR was filed against both passengers after IndiGo lodged a complaint.

In a statement given by Indigo, “Two passengers travelling on flight 6E 1088 from Dubai to Mumbai were observed to be in an inebriated state and continued consuming alcohol onboard despite multiple warnings from the crew. They verbally abused the crew and co-passengers. As per protocol, they were handed over to the CISF security staff for unruly behavior. Post the incident, a complaint has been filed at the nearby police station. We regret the inconvenience caused to other passengers".
