Delhi Police have arrested individuals from Chhattisgarh in connection with the theft of jewellery worth ₹25 crore from a showroom in Delhi. The heist occurred at a jewellery store in Jangpura, owned by Umrao Singh and Mahaveer Prasad Jain, where thieves made off with diamonds and gold jewellery valued at Rs 20 to 25 crore. The perpetrators gained access to the showroom by cutting through the roof.
Chhattisgarh Police arrested Lokesh Srivas, who had committed seven thefts in Durg and recovered 18 kg of gold stolen from the Delhi showroom, along with 12.50 lakh in cash. Lokesh's accomplice, Shiva Chandravanshi, was also apprehended in Kawardha with jewellery worth 28 lakhs. Both accused are being taken to Delhi for further investigation.

The theft was discovered when the showroom owner returned after a holiday and found all the jewellery missing. Surveillance footage revealed that the thieves had entered through a hole in the roof. While the gold and diamond jewellery was stolen, the silver jewellery was left untouched. The owner of the burgled jewellery shop, Sanjeev Jain, reported significant damage to the store, including the destruction of CCTV cameras.
Delhi Police, in collaboration with Chhattisgarh Police, have solved the burglary case, arresting the main suspect. The stolen jewellery has been recovered, and further investigations are underway. Authorities have revealed that the accused had a history of involvement in large-scale thefts, and more cases may be linked to this gang. The incident, considered a major burglary, prompted a thorough investigation by the police.
