Youtubers and their click bait have been lately a menace in the society for causing Public disturbance. For garnering a few likes, Youtubers go to the extent of breaking rules and regulations.
Same happened when a 23-year-old Youtuber, Vikas Gowda, a resident of Yelahanka in Bengaluru, entered the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, accused of deliberately missing boarding the Chennai-bound Air India flight on April 7 at around noon. He instead recorded a ‘24 hr Vlog’ video with his phone inside the Airport premises and uploaded it on his Youtube Channel, where he was seen roaming around the airport and later falsely claiming or ‘lying’ to his audience that he spent an entire day there. The video went viral.
It was on April 15 when the matter came to the notice of the airport security personnel. He was later arrested when a case was registered against him under Sections 505 (Statements conducing to public mischief) and 448 (house trespass) of the Indian Penal Code.
This spending ‘24 hours a day’ is a popular Challenge trend on Youtube, and is extremely liked by the audience, capitalising on it, Vikas which has nearly 1.13 lakh subscribers on his Youtube channel, uploaded it with a clickbait title, and bragged about entering the airport without a ticket, loitering near the runway for a day, and even filming while blindfolded to evade detection by airport officials. He also claimed that he had ventured into many areas of the airport premises hoodwinking security.
The initial investigation revealed that Gowda spent around six hours inside the airport before walking out and not exaggerated 24 hours.
He managed to get away as "He told security personnel at the gate he had missed his flight. Since he had the air ticket and boarding pass, no one suspected him," as per the police.
Gowda was later released on bail and now the video is deleted too.
