The Binjalwada Irrigation Project in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, which was supposed to bring relief to farmers, has once again landed in controversy.
During testing, high-speed water burst out and flooded homes, fields, and even submerged a road completely.
Indian Farmers Union (Bharatiya Kisan Sangh) had been protesting for 10 days.
The protest was called off after Collector Bhoge Amital assured quick action.
Officials have promised to speed up the work and complete it stage-wise within the next 20 days.
However, farmers have warned that they will monitor the progress closely.
If work is not completed on time, they will restart the agitation.
