The Union Budget 2026-2027, presented by the finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman has provided strategic priority to healthcare and biopharma manufacturing. The establishment of 1,000 accredited clinical trial sites and announcement of Biopharma Shakti, a ₹10,000 crore fund for the same , will help in boosting clinical trials and build the ecosystem for domestic production of biologics and biosimilars. The increased funding for the Ministry of AYUSH will help to expand infrastructure, improve quality and research & development both domestically and on the global stage. The impetus of exports of Ayurvedic products will also help in domestic thrust to the relevant crop production and help farming of the same.
