Sniffer Dog Gets Pregnant - Inquiry Ordered by BSF

In a curious incident, the Border Security Force (BSF) has ordered a court of inquiry after one of its sniffer dogs deployed at India-Bangladesh border got pregnant and gave birth to three puppies.

The BSF rules suggest that the female dogs can breed once under the guidance of veterinary doctors of the force.

As the rules of BSF state that a BSF dog is not supposed to get pregnant in a high security zone, an inquiry has been ordered to find out what happened. “These dogs are never brought into contact with other dogs. And breeding is performed under the supervision of a veterinary doctor,” said a senior BSF officer.

Sniffer dogs, also known as sniffer or scent dogs, are trained to use their sense of smell to detect specific substances or scents. They are often used by law enforcement and other agencies for tasks such as searching for illegal drugs, explosives, or missing people. Sniffer dogs are also used in a variety of other settings, such as detecting smuggled goods at airports or identifying pests or diseases in agriculture.

Sniffer dogs are trained using positive reinforcement techniques and are rewarded with treats or toys when they correctly identify a scent. They are highly skilled and able to detect even small amounts of a specific substance due to their acute sense of smell.
