A Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable shot dead four people, including an assistant sub-inspector, on board a Jaipur-Mumbai Central Express train near Palghar, Maharashtra on Monday, an official reported.
The RPF ASI and three other railway passengers were shot shortly after 5 a.m. by a gunshot from the constable's automatic pistol, according to the official. Palghar is about 100 kilometers from Mumbai.
The officer stated that Chetan Kumar Choudhary opened fire at ASI Tika Ram Meena, who was in charge of his escort duty, in the running train. The report further added that after killing his superior, the cop walked to another bogie and shot three passengers. With the assistance of Government Railway Police and RPF authorities, the constable was detained by police at Mira Road.
The Western Railway's chief PRO, Sumit Thakur, stated that the incident's cause is yet unknown. According to the official, the accused is in the custody of the Mira Road railway police. At the Borivali railway station, the bodies were taken out of the train.
