Remo D'Souza and his wife, Lizelle D'Souza, have been named in a case filed in the Thane district of Maharashtra for cheating a dance troupe of ₹11.96 crore. The case was filed by a 26-year-old dancer who accused Remo and his wife with five others of cheating his dance troupe. The case was registered at Mira Road police station on October 16. The police have charged the accused under sections 465 (forgery) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code. Other accused include Omprakash Shankar Chouhan, Rohit Jadhav from Frame Production Company, Vinod Raut, a police officer, and Ramesh Gupta.
Allegation of Cheating and Fraud
The allegations of fraud against Remo D'Souza and his wife, Lizelle D'Souza, stem from a complaint filed by a dancer who claims that between 2018 and July 2024, they deceived his dance troupe. The troupe reportedly participated in a television show and won a prize of ₹11.96 crore. The accused allegedly posed as the owners of the troupe and claimed the prize money for themselves.
Investigation is Under Process
This issue has already invited authorities to start investigations into this case and examine all the accused. The lawsuit is also widely noticed because the case involves one of Bollywood's most renowned choreographers, Remo D'Souza. Remo D'Souza is also gearing up for the release of his news film "Be Happy", directed by him and produced by his wife Lizelle D'Souza. The movie is starring Abhishek Bachchan and Inayat Verma. It will be seen on the big screen soon.
