Rajasthan Teacher changes gender to marry student

"You can refer to it as madness, but I refer to it as love."

Bharatpur is a district headquarters in Rajasthan where Love has made all the headlines. A physical education teacher named Meera fell in love with her Kabbadi player student Kalpana. In their school's physical education classes, Kalpana and Meera became friends.

Meera, who underwent gender reassignment surgery to marry his beloved Kalpana, has evidenced the accuracy of the claim that love knows no boundaries. Meera was born a girl but has the soul of a boy. Because a boy was living in a female body, she was not herself. She wanted to become he and after meeting Kalpana Meera’s decision became stronger.

In the year 2019, Meera went for a first gender reassignment surgery. This whole gender change procedure took 3  years to make Aarav alive. In December 2021 the final surgery took place.

It was not simple to change from Meera to Aarav. However, Kalpana was always there by Aarav's side to encourage and support him. While having a media conversation, details about Meera were revealed by Aarav's father. Meera never acts like a girl, he said. She never wore girl's clothing and always displayed a greater interest in sports.

Aarav's family is not disappointed because they are thrilled with his choice and fully back him. Younger sisters of Aarav now tie Rakhi to him, and their kids call him Mama, which is the Hindi word for maternal uncle.

Gender change surgery

Aarav and Kalpana got married on 4th November 2022 in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. They both took vows with love and good wishes from their parents and families. Surprisingly, everyone was supportive towards their decision and became a part of this unique wedding of the year. Despite changing his identity, Aarav continues to face challenges. It implies that he must create new identity documents to reflect his new name, new gender, and other changes. It seems difficult but worth it.

Kalpana, who has always supported Aarav, has also shared her opinions on surgery. She said that even if Aarav hadn't changed his gender, she would still have married him and remained in love with him. Moreover, it is a perfect example of a progressive India.

We have seen so many examples where in the name of caste, religion, sex and status many couples sacrifice their love and gave up. Before fighting for their rights, they choose to leave because of pressure from family, parents and society. Aarav and Kalpana are the symbol of true love and true companionship. Bharatpur is a small district of Rajasthan but after this incident, they have become people with a big heart and progressive mindset.

Also commendable is Kalpana's decision to keep playing sports even after getting married. She will participate in an international pro-kabaddi tournament in Dubai scheduled for January 2023. We send our love, good fortune, and best wishes to the couple!
