Railways presents Ajanta Caves Rail Connectivity from Jalna and Jalgaon

Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw , Hon’ble Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting , Electronics and Information Technology , today concisely explained to the media regarding the upcoming Ajanta Caves Rail Connectivity Project. This Project intended to flourish the industrial growth by elevating the progressive connectivity system between Marathwada and North Maharashtra.

The vision of railway connectivity proposal :

The State Government and the Railway joined hands in this proposal with a contribution of around Rs.7,106 crores . The railway line connects between Jalna to Jalgaon with a distance that covers 174 kilometers.  The main aim is to conclude the overall project by employing 60 lakh man days and minimizing the Co2 emissions which commensurate with planting of 2.2 crore trees. This railway line project has an extended vision of developing connectivity in places such as Maharastra, North Maharashtra , Madhya Pradesh and the coastal areas of Maharashtra and Gujarat .
 
The anticipated timeline of the project is estimated within 4 to 5 years . The project accounts to be India ‘s longest transport tunnel with a wide span area of 23.5 kilometers and 935 hectares of land.

Prospects of the railway connectivity :

Shri Vaishnaw briefed the supremacy of advantages that pours on Marathwada region and North Maharashtra. This project contributes towards the port connectivity , elevated agricultural product transportation like soybeans and cotton , Fertilizer and cement for industries.
To add a feather to a cap , This project focuses on tourism by facilitating access to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Ajanta Caves.
 
The Ajanta Caves Rail Connectivity Project holds the benefit of spreading the resources of the Marathwada region and North Maharashtra , intended to uplift the lives of the local community and to establish new business ventures.
