The Goa Police have busted a ’sextortion' racket where Gujarati businessmen were found being honey-trapped. The racket was being run by a gang of women who would lure the businessmen into intimate relationships and then secretly record the encounters. They would then threaten to release the videos unless the businessmen paid them a ransom.
The police have arrested four women in connection with the racket and have seized several pieces of incriminating evidence, including laptops, mobile phones, and pen drives. The police are also on the lookout for other members of the gang.
The modus operandi of the gang was to create fake profiles on social media platforms and dating websites. They would then pose as attractive young women and lure the businessmen into intimate relationships. Once the businessmen were hooked, the women would secretly record the encounters. The women would then threaten to release the videos unless the businessmen paid them a ransom.
