A male customer who allegedly peed on his female companion while intoxicated on a flight from New York to Delhi in November has been banned from the airline for one month. Despite the fact that the event occurred almost a month ago, Air India appears to have made a wise and commendable choice. The incident happened during the flight's business class.
Interestingly, this is not the first time a passenger has behaved funnily on a flight. There have been many reports of strange or bizarre behavior by passengers on airplanes. Some examples include:
A passenger who stripped naked and ran up and down the aisle of the plane
A passenger who tried to open the emergency exit mid-flight because they thought the plane was crashing
A passenger who brought a live turkey on board and insisted on keeping it on their lap
A passenger who brought a peacock on board as their emotional support animal, but was denied permission to bring it on the flight
A passenger who brought a live falcon on board and refused to let it be stored in the cargo hold
An Air India spokesperson said, “The passenger has been banned from flying with Air India for 30 days or till the decision of the internal committee, whichever is earlier. If found guilty, action will be taken against the unruly passenger as per regulatory guidelines. We’ve also constituted an internal committee to probe lapses on part of Air India’s crew, address the deficiencies that delayed quick redressal of the situation. We’re in regular contact with the aggrieved passenger, her family during the probe."
