Opposition raises the NEET issue in the Parliament while the Lok Sabha gets adjourned until Monday

June 28: Opposition parties affiliated with the INDIA bloc will move adjournment motions in both Houses of Parliament over the alleged irregularities in the National Entrance-cum-Eligibility Test (NEET) and paper leaks in other public exams. Even though the day has been dedicated to discussing the Motion of Thanks to the President's address to Parliament, the Opposition will attempt to corner the government over the NEET Paper leak issue. According to sources, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan would address the issue if it comes up today.

  • Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the day amid the Opposition's uproar over the NEET issue

Amidst agitation over the NEET issue, the Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day. The House is scheduled to return on July 1 at 11:00 a.m.

  • The Lok Sabha has been adjourned until noon due to slogans against the NEET row.

Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla declined to consider the opposition's move for adjournment before the President's speech. In response to the opposition's request to discuss the NEET issue, Birla advised Raul Gandhi, the opposition leader, to adhere to parliamentary procedure. The Speaker delayed the House till noon as the opposition MPs insisted on keeping the House from operating while raising slogans on the NEET issue.

  • Manickam Tagore, a Congress MP, has sent a notice of adjournment to the Lok Sabha over the incidences of exam paper leaks, specifically involving NEET-UG and UGC NET. Congress MPs Gaurav Gogoi and Ranjeet Ranjan have also sent out notices.
  • To discuss incidences of paper leaks during exam operations, including NEET-UG and UGC-NET, Congress MP Syed Naseer Hussain and Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh, issued a suspension of Business Notice under Rule 267 in Rajya Sabha.
