The Delhi Metro has announced that it will extend its last train timings by about 30 minutes on all lines, except the Airport Express Line, during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 matches held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. This decision aims to facilitate the smooth movement of spectators to their destinations after the matches.
The Delhi Metro will also perform extra train trips, approximately 24, to accommodate the expected rush at nearby metro stations. Additional personnel and customer facilitation agents will be deployed at the Delhi Gate Metro station to handle the increased number of spectators.
The last train timings may be adjusted further based on match requirements, and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly. The Arun Jaitley Stadium is located near the Delhi Gate Metro station on the Violet Line, which runs from Kashmere Gate station to Raja Nahar Singh station. The 50-over World Cup began in India on Thursday.
