The Namo Bharat train, a flagship project under the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), took a major step towards modernization and improving connectivity in the National Capital Region (NCR) when it was trialled from Duhai to Modi Nagar South. Following the successful start of the 17-kilometer priority stretch that covers Ghaziabad, Meerut, and Delhi, comes this development.
A significant stage in the testing of the freshly laid track and traction for the Namo Bharat train was completed with the trial run on a Sunday. The train left Duhai station, arrived at Murad Nagar station, and proceeded to travel the remaining 12 km to Modi Nagar South.
The Namo Bharat trains are currently being tested on the track and traction. Under the Train Control Management System, the train is initially run manually. The train traveled at a slow speed from Muradnagar station to Modi Nagar South. It was later returned to Duhai at a little faster pace, according to the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC).
According to the officials, the construction of a 25-kilometer viaduct was finished in June, and the almost 24.5-kilometer stretch of track had been laid. Since then, a number of construction projects have advanced quickly, including the laying of rails, the installation of overhead equipment, the installation of telecom and signaling, and electrical work. Before the section is opened for passenger operation, several systems, including trains, tracks, signaling, and other infrastructure integration, will be tested during the trial runs. A spokesperson from the NCRTC stated that comparable testing were started in January for the priority portion prior to its eventual opening following safety approvals.
